This type of restaurant offers the typical Brazilian barbecue - churrasco, which comprises of whole cuts of meat that are skewed and barbecued in a “churrasqueira” typically built of bricks. The meat is cooked and then brought to the table, in a service called a rodízio.
Passadores (meat waiters) roam the restaurant, each handling a specific cut of meat. They come to your table with a skewer and each one can then either elect to take a slice of the dish or pass. For the inexperienced it can become quite an staggering experience as skewer upon skewer is presented to the table.
