These restaurants offer the typical Brazilian barbecue - churrasco, which consists of whole cuts of meat which are skewed and barbecued in a “churrasqueira” built of bricks. The meat is cooked and then served at the table, in a service called a rodízio.

The “churrascarias” generally provide, complimentary to the meat, an all-you-can-eat buffet. Usually, the buffet serves salads, rice, beans, and some fish stew. Very often, these restaurants also offer pao-de-queijo (similar to biscuit, but with a cheese infused bread. The bread is made of tapioca flour and cheese), and deep fried banana (typical Brazilian treats). Usually they offer Brazilian desserts, such as pudim de leite (milk pudding), passion fruit mousse, quindim (a sweet treat made of egg yolk, sugar, and coconut), and brigadeiro (made of chocolate, condensed milk, eggs, and sugar). It is absolutely worth saving room for dessert, if you can!
