Northeast Brazilian The Northeast area of Brazil, predominantly the states of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, and Sergipe, contains geographically of a slender, bursting coastal plain with plentiful rainfall in which much of the population is established, an likewise narrow transition zone titled the Agreste, and a significant semi-arid area named the Sertão, which is dominated by significant cattle ranches. All of these states have their variants in cuisine and type, being Bahia one of the most typical of them. They use a good deal of “pimenta” (pepper) and azeite de dende (a particular kind of oil) to cook their meals. Overall, however, most northeastern states will use tapioca flour and sun-dried beef (carne de sol). Shrimp and fish are also really prominent and low-priced. Another feature of northeastern food is the amount. Generally, the portions are pretty large, and a dish can supply two to three people. Several of the favorites from this cuisine are “moqueca de peixe”, acaraje’, vatapa’, tapioca com coco e leite condensado, cashew juice, acerola juice, acai.
