This type of restaurant offers the traditional Brazilian barbecue - churrasco, which comprises of whole cuts of meat that are skewed and barbecued in a “churrasqueira” constructed of bricks. The meat is cooked and then served at the table, in a service called a rodízio.
Passadores (meat waiters) wander around the restaurant, each person carrying a specific type of meat. They arrive at your table with a knife and a skewer and each person can then either elect to take a slice of the meat or pass. The bread is made of tapioca flour and cheese), and deep fried banana (typical Brazilian treats). Usually they offer Brazilian desserts, such as pudim de leite (milk pudding), passion fruit mousse, quindim (a sweet treat made of egg yolk, sugar, and coconut), and brigadeiro (made of chocolate, condensed milk, eggs, and sugar).
