Boa Viagem e Procissão do Bom Jesus dos Navegantes

Tradition dating back to mid-eighteenth century, the festival is one of the most beautiful demonstrations of Salvador and the turn of the year happens when the people continues to New Year's celebrations on the beach of Boa Viagem.

Fun is guaranteed from midnight with songs and dances in the tents that serve typical food and drinks, until the arrival of the Procession of the Bom Jesus dos Navegantes beach of the same name.

The maritime procession that follows the Sandeel Gratitude of the People with the image of the Bom Jesus dos Navegantes out on the morning of January 1 of the pier Command of the 2nd Naval District, opposite the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao da Praia, will continue until Farol da Barra and returns to finish in the Boa Viagem beach, opposite the Church of Our Lady of Good Voyage. Normally, the procession is accompanied by hundreds of boats of all kinds.
