Maison de France Theater
Since opening to the early 50's, the Theater Maison de France PSA Peugeot Citroën was the scene of the major theatrical events in Rio and forever marked the city's cultural life.

With the unfailing support of Mr. Michel Rama, the then head of the French Government for the buildings, the architectural project was initiated, given to Engineer Sergio Moreira Dias, whose firm designed the famous achievements as the Metropolitan, Claro Hall today.
The best lighting and acoustical experts were hired to improve the quality of the theater, the air conditioning system was installed to provide comfort and quiet and spacious dressing rooms were built with five toilets.
Due to new security standards, the ability of the theater was reduced from 500 to 353 seats and the stage enlarged.
The devaluation of the Institute in 1999 forced Molière to seek sponsors to supplement the available funds.
