Fundição Progresso

It is a cultural center located in an old historic building which actually ran a foundry. The site has several areas where trials occur, parties, films, lectures, concerts and corporate events.

Beside the Flying Circus, an old and disabled casting stoves and vaults were being demolished. The act of destroying a building so beautiful, old, round and big, was too much for members of the Flying Circus, a group that valued the Brazilian culture throughout the ages. After moving away from the Progress Casting because of disagreeing with the proposal that was being implemented by its partners and Marcio Mauricio Calvão Sette, Perfeito Fortuna was working with the Amazon Indians and rubber tappers in the manufacture of products made with latex. In March 1999, he returned to Rio's cultural scene to finish what had begun. During this period there was an election to choose the president of the NGO Art and Progress Casting. The formatting that is being given by the current administration of the NGO for the occupation of different spaces and different from the Foundry, is conditional based on the actual conditions that the Foundry was in March 1999, coupled with immense determination to transform this historic landmark of the city a center of culture, environment and education. Several works, architectural improvements and basic security measures have been promoted so far. The facade colors won more consistent with the proposal of the face and Foundry.
