Lapa

Lapa: Rio Cradle of famous bohemian neighborhood, it also reveals one of the richest architectural city.

Only one neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro can aggregate various musical events without dazzling genres and artists. The site is Lapa, downtown, where is the flagship project of the Arcos da Lapa. Stage for the poetry of the lyrics of the samba, the chords sound the northeast and the modernity of electronic music, all live in perfect harmony in bars in the streets Mem de Sa, and Lavradio Riachuelo.

Since the early 50's, Lapa has been one of the main landmarks of the city's nightlife. The site, with its famous cabarets and restaurants, was considered the "Montmartre Carioca", frequented by the cream of artists, intellectuals, politicians and diplomats. From that time until today, the cave continues to throb. City Hall has already restored much of the neighborhood, preserving as much of the original architecture of the buildings of the early century, the main feature of the place. Visually, the site is a bath of history, hosting the centennial Arcos da Lapa, the Public Park, the National School of Music and the Church of N. Senhora da Lapa are true icons of the Old River.

But it's when night falls that shows why the cave has established itself as the city's cultural attractions. Sala Cecilia Meirelles, considered the best concert hall chamber music of Rio, shares the street with the bar Asa Branca, where the trickster will seek popular music and dance. Eating as the Seed and Ernesto have the highest manifestation of Rio samba, choro. For fans of samba circles, the tips are 100 and Rio Scenarium Emporium, which during the day work as antique. The same styles of music also invade the Carioca da Gema, the House of Mother Joan and Lady of the Night.

The beats of house, techno and other modern nuances, and shows the great artists of the MPB, find space in Progress, and often at events held outdoors, always using one of the arches and ceiling as backdrop for the performances.

Still in the same Lapa, restaurants like New Chapel, and Manoel Joaquim Bar and Brazil ensure the night offering good food. In fact, this is multicultural space that finds its origins in Rio and the tourist makes a tour of one of history's most precious architectural ensembles of Rio de Janeiro.
