Christmas in Brazil, or better, Christmases in Brazil are one of the biggest parties of the country. The Christmas celebrations are no exception to the pattern of other countries with the majority Catholic population. It is time to decorated the tree with balls, flashing, and as the country is very large in some regions local products are used as decorations.

At Supper there is the traditional turkey, ham, French toast and the necessary various fruits. On the 24th families and friends get together and exchange gifts. Practicing Catholics do not miss the midnight mass (Missa do Galo).

The Costumes: The decorations of the houses come in late November / early December, but every office and shop, also decorates. Some say that eating dates at Christmas brings good luck. Grapes are most served the fruit. They open the presents after dinner and the party continues with many gifts and Christmas greeting. The next morning is to prepare for lunch. Many families leave the dinner served all day.
