The name comes from cheeseburger, which, influenced by the country's native language, Portuguese, became only known as "X", and pronounced sheeez. The X-burger is generally much larger than any burger from well-known fast-food chains around the world. This sandwich is toasted and also much larger than a regular hamburger or cheeseburger. It has a Arab influence, as the name “Beirute” alludes to.
