The Museum is an open door to the outside community, inviting it to come to the University of Santa Catarina to know a little more of their own past and reflect on their cultural identity as diverse.
Besides the important collection of Prehistoric Archaeology Colonial and History, and Ethnology Indigenous Museum is custodian of the collection "Prof. Elizabeth Pavan Cascaes, preserving a significant collection of the artist Franklin Joaquim Cascaes, consisting of more than 2,700 pieces - drawings, manuscripts and sculptures that depict the daily life, religion, legends, myths, folklore and traditions mirth of the first settlers of the island of Santa Catarina.
