Carnival in Florianópolis
The Carnival is undoubtedly the most popular festival in Brazil and one of the most popular worldwide, attracting tourists from all over the planet. In Brazil, the celebration usually begins on the Friday night before the beginning of Lent and usually ends the night of Tuesday prior to Ash Wednesday (which is the first day of Lent in the Western Christian calendar).
