Bosque Gutierrez
The park opened in 1989, and is at one highest points in the city, in the neighbourhood of Vista Alegre. With a total area of 36,000 square meters, this land was preserved by João Carlos Gutierrez, and named after him.
There are a couple of attractions which draw tourists to the park, the main one is a natural spring that delivers upto 1,350 liters of water per hour. The park also has two small lakes an ecological trail for visitors to enjoy the fauna and wild flowers. At the natural spring is a memorial to Chico Mendes which opened on March 22, 1989.
The Bosque is located at the Albino Raschendorfer and Carrillo Gaspar Jr streets, Vista Alegre /Merces neighborhood. The visiting hours are daily from 8am to 7pm.
