Centro da Terra Theater
The Theatre of the Center of the Earth, is located twelve feet below the surface. It was inaugurated on September 3, 2001, after ten years of excavation works and the fourth and fifth basement of a building in the neighborhood of Sumare. Its name comes from its location underground and is also a tribute to the show Journey to the Center of the Earth held in 1992 by Multimedia Kompanhia Theatre of São Paulo.
In addition to the presentation room equipped to accommodate an audience of one hundred people, the Center of the Earth occupies the four upper floors of the building with rooms of various tests and activities of its research centers (interpretation, drama and assembly). It also develops increasingly didactic activity.
Grand houses the Center of the Earth - a school of Integrated Arts (Visual Arts + + Music Theatre) to children aged 5 to 12 years. For more information visit: www.graodocentrodaterra.com.br.
To reach the theater, the brave public should equip themselves with helmets and lights and face the mining tunnels and down the stairs of an abandoned gold mine in the neighborhood of Sumare. Who does not want, or do not feel like confronting the darkness of the stairs, you can use the elevator to the safety and comfort.
Once the Center of the Earth the public will find a large and comfortable waiting room with bar and sofas in order to rest and drink the delicious wine of the brave.
