Arte Brasileira Museum
The MAB - Museu de Arte Brasileira (FAAP) collection brings together some of the MAB 3,000 works of Brazilian and foreign artists settled here. It covers some colonial productions, such as a gilded altar and names are representative of pre-modernism as Pedro Alexandrino and Belmiro de Almeida. Brings together a rich pool of artists linked to Modernism as is the case of Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Tarsila do Amaral, Victor Brecheret, Ismael Neri, Oswaldo Goeldi and Anita Malfatti emphasizing the presence of "Man of the Seven Colors," by the latter, whose work took part in Week 22.
The MAB is a cultural institution that has the largest collection of works written by Flávio de Carvalho, the controversial architect and painter of the mid-twentieth century, which launched in the year '50 costume, which in his opinion best fits the Brazilian man . In this second phase of works of modernism there are Francisco Rebolo Gonsales, Mario Zanini, Aldo Bonadei, Candido Portinari, Lasar Segall, Alfredo Volpi, Ernesto de Fiori and Livio Abramo. Of the 50 years there are works by Lygia Clark, Arcangelo Ianelli, Manabu Mabe, Renina Katz, Samson Flexor and Tomie Ohtake.
The MAB Collection is made up of 2,850 works, 581 artists from the following examples: painting 883; design 761; picture 702; sculpture 141; photo 175; other 188. The predominant art works are of the 60´s to 80´s - 80% and Brazilian artists - 96%.
