Carnival in São Paulo

The Carnival of São Paulo is a popular traditional festival which takes place annually in São Paulo. The stage shows of the famous samba schools in São Paulo is the Anhembi Sambadrome (Sports and Cultural Center and Grande Otelo), which is one of the largest outdoor spaces for large events in São Paulo.

Carnival was introduced to Brazil by the Portuguese, by the sixteenth century. At that time the game was to throw eggs, flour and water in people, today is another connotation of the carnival.
