The name derives from cheeseburger, which, heavily influenced by the country's native language, Portuguese, became simply known as "X", and pronounced sheeez. It is often said that it is very difficult to complete a X-burger in one sitting! It is clearly a twist on the typical American variety burger.

Many lunch time diners are looking for a very casual eating experience, with a nutritious and fairly quick meal. Hot buffets offer them this by having numerous hot dishes ready.
