Cine-Teatro Solar Boa Vista

Founded on July 6, 1984, Cine-Teatro Solar Boa Vista, located in the neighborhood of Old Mill Brotas, has staged several cultural presentations throughout its existence. It also acts as a multicultural learning center where people in the community can have access to free workshops, theater, visual arts, Canto, Capoeira, Gymnastics and Dance.

Currently, the theater, which is becoming a popular culture reference of Salvador, is one of the Culture Points of the Living Culture, action of the Ministry of Culture. Cine Teatro working on the assignment of scores, being used to present shows of community groups, who attends is encouraged to share it through training audience.

history

At the beginning of last century, the location where today stands the Teatro Cine missing part of the Boa Vista Farm, whose owner was known as Machado da Boa Vista. There, was a colonial house, the Solar da Boa Vista, belonging to the family of Castro Alves and where the poet, at age 11 (1858) was living. In the same region, worked for many years, the Psychiatric Hospital Moreira. Coming to the twentieth century, in 80 years, Park was established Solar Boa Vista, and since the 90's, installations of solar home to the Municipal Secretary of Education and Culture.
