Planetario da Gavea
The Planetarium Foundation City of Rio de Janeiro was established in 1970 with the aim of spreading the astronomy and related sciences and develop cultural projects. The institution promotes activities such as summit meetings, interactive experiments and observations to the telescope, courses, lectures, exhibitions, summer camps, in addition to projects like "Music in the Stars" and "Sleeping with the Stars. "
The Planetarium has two summits: Carl Zeiss, which houses the model Universarium VIII - TD, with 263 seats, and Galileo, which has the Spacemaster model, with 130 seats. And it offers a library, a theater, auditorium, restaurants, parking and a large green area for recreation of children.
The Planetarium Foundation is a research tool and dissemination of astronomical science and related sciences. Popular and fun, offering visitors courses, temporary exhibitions, permanent exhibition with 56 interactive experiments, dome sessions, guided visits to the museum with displays and weekly observations of the sky.
