Palácio do Catete - Republic Museum in Rio de Janeiro
Catete Palace, the shelter of our Republic Museum.
Republican seat of power between the years 1897 and 1960, the Catete Palace has neoclassical architecture with façade of granite and marble portals framed by pink and white marble.
For now there is nothing more than 18 Presidents and to some of the most important events in the history of the country, as the decisions of Brazil's participation in two world wars and the suicide of President Getulio Vargas.
Transformed into a museum after the change of the Federal Capital to Brasilia, the place, and an intense cultural calendar, also counts with a library, bar, restaurant, shop and a beautiful garden, ideal for walks in the evening or even even when resting.
