Catabumba Park
The Catacomb Park is an ecological reserve on the shores of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. There are landscaped with paths and picturesque alleys, in line with the dense vegetation that extends predominantly by the length of the park. A great diversity of trees, plants and flowers are seen throughout the park. The lower part of the park is paved, winding, slope, gives a special charm to the place. Every now and then is faced with some area also paved with stones, which form small niches or small squares where you can sit to enjoy nature or read in a local environment and pleasant climate. At the top, there is a dense forest, which is a forest and ecological reserve. There is also a track where it is possible to go into the forest to reach the top of the hill slope on which the park is located. Once reaching the top, it is possible to have a beautiful view of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and surrounding areas. You can even see a part of Ipanema. Across the pond, you can watch the Jockey Club, Botanical Gardens, and the Rowing Stadium of the Lagoon. Every so often you can see some small boat sailing, rowing a team, while in the background and the Sugar Loaf Hill Brothers complement the scene. How to Get there: The park is located at Pessoa Ave. , nº 3000, in front of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas 11606. As reference is opposite the station "eggshell", a place with a light and interesting architecture.
