Porto Beach

Access is difficult to this beach, but those who do make the trip are enchanted by a nearly untouched beach, Porto Beach.  From Recife it is a 120km trip, with the final 10km being on a clay road that was formerly used to transport sugarcane crops.  It's also possible to access the beach via dune buggies, which are always a favorite method of transportation in the northeast.   There is no infrastructure once you reach the beach, no hotels or restaurants are availbe here, so bring food and beverages along.

Nature has combined sand, rocks and trees to create a wonderful landscape at this beach, and a few meters into the ocean, there is the famous "Island of the Lonely Palm Tree".  This place was made famous by a popular Brazilian soap opera that added this scenic shot to their show.

Located between Boca da Barra and Praia da Várzea do Una, this beach is accessible via BR101 and PE60.
