Encouraçado Butikin
The house was oringally opened during Brazils military dictatorship and was named Battleship Butikin an allusion to the film's revolutionary Russian filmmaker Eisenstein. Throughout its existence, in the 70's and 80's, the Battleship Butikin was the main attraction in Porto Alegre. With Vinicius de Moraes often playing there. The establishment has undergone an extensive renovation and reopened in 2000 repeating its previous success.
It has two distinct environments, with the first floor for dancing and the second floor containing serveral tables for chatting. The sound is diverse, including classic '70s and '80s, but without leaving out the ballads of the moment. The crowd is in their early 20's and 30's, and is well behaved with no need to worry about fights breaking out.
