Maracajaú in Natal
Snorkeling in Parrachos, at Maracajaú Beach (10455) is the ideal place for beginners and there is no age restriction to those who want to try. The coral reefs are not too far from the shore, but do require a catamaran to reach them. There are many operators with boats who offer services to tourists to take them out to the reefs in these waters and many offer up skewers of lobster, shrimp, cheese and various beverages onboard. Bathrooms are also available onboard the ships, making it very comfortable for those that simply want to sit on board, while their loved ones take a dip in the ocean. For snorkeling, the operators include the necessary snorkel masks.
Once in the water, there is a variety of biodiversity along the coral reefs and seabed which is only 3-4 meters deep in most places. The temperature in the water fluctuates between 26º C and 28º C, making swimming very enjoyable, especially under the hot sun that Natal is known for.
Many of the tour operators also provide scuba gear, lessons and guides. The dive time is roughly 30 minutes and they will provide all of the necessary equipment and guides to ensure your safety, swimming alongside you the entire time.
