Natal is known for it's beaches and dunes, but there are many beautiful parks within the city and state that are worth visiting. Dunas park is one of the largest and best preserved parks within Natal itself, this urban park is very large and backs up to ocean and Ponta Negra.  Many of the best hotels in Natal sit along the edges of this park and the ocean, giving their visitors a beach side view and park side view.  Dunas Park is easily accessible, with plenty of trails and lots of room to stretch out, it's an easy to find park, and a lot of fun during the hot summer days.

Outside of the urban area, there are also many parks available for tourists, including the fantastic Parque Ecológico de Jenipabu, which has a collection of dunes, a lagoon, and Jenipabu beach.  This park is fully environmentally protected.
