Muriu Beach
A typical fishing village, Muriú beach in Rio Grande do Norte has unusually calm waters which are excellent for swimming in. It has beautiful sand dunes, lagoons, reefs and coconut trees. One of the many attractions in Muriú are the natural pools with coral formations. Scuba diving is also done here, especially at the place known as the Old Hole. During high season, from December to March, the beach offers many services to tourists, including boat rentals, jet skiing and banana boating.
Tourism in Muriú stands out from its neighbors due to the fact that this area is a vacation destination with vacation homes. Several beach restaurants are present, giving customers quality service and affordable prices. Several of the restaurants specialize in seafood, and often lobster as the main industry of the area is lobster fishing. Other attractions in the area include buggy rides through beautiful landscape of dunes and many festivals that attract people from all over. There are a few lodging options near the beach, along with the possiblity of renting a vacation home.
Due to the fishing nature of Muriú Beach, there are often many rafts, small fishing boats and drag nets out in the sea. This really is a typical fishing village that tourists have found and converted into a paradise in the tropics.
