Natal Cultural Popular Museum
Established in 1988 in the old Palace of Government on Chile Street, the Museu da Cultura Popular presents photographic and textual sampling of folkloric activities of the state, objects of folk art, dolls, crafts, books, pamphlets, prints and exhibitions of costumes and accessories of the main dances in Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to the collection of Cordel Literature and Chico Traíra published by Fundação José Augusto. The collection comprises of some 1,500 individual pieces including pictures, art by local artists, videos, and handicrafts
