Camurupim Beach
This southern coast beach is located roughly 45 km south of Natal's city center. Camurupim Beach actually belongs to the city of Nísia Floresta, which makes it a nice beach to visit if you're also visiting the local city center. The Beach is formed by huge reefs, which form a chain of coves and grottos great for bathing in and walking along. The area is also good for children because it doesn't have the danger of large waves that many of the other beaches have.
One of the great attractions of Camurupim Beach is a grotto named Pedra Oca, which is in the middle of the reefs and can be visited at low tide. Several films have used the location, and tourists and locals come to enjoy it regularly.
Arituba Lagoon 911042) is nearby and another great attraction for tourists who have come up to the city of Nísia Floresta.
