Boat Trips in Pipa
There are many ways of exploring Pipa, and as a seaside town famous for its waters and beaches, one of the best ways to experience the sea is by being in it. There are great options to see the beaches of Pipa from many angles when taking a boat tour, and they really show off the beauty of beaches, waters and city. Boat tours are primarily run off of larger boats, for those visitors who fear tiny boats in the ocean.
Tours are divided into Beach Tours and Lagoon Tours. The Beach Tours last around an hour and a half, leaving from Porto Beach, and then continuing on along through Amor Beach until Afogados Beach and then finally Chapadão Beach. One the best parts of this tour are the dolphins as in aptly named Dolphin Bay, where an aquatic wildlife reserve has been established to preserve the area for the dolphins that live in the waters of Pipa and Tibau do Sul. Recently approved by the local authorities, the reserve now allows a glimpse of the dolphins up close. Buoys surround the reservation, marking off an area where only two boats at a time are allowed at once, and where idling engines are prohibited. All tour operators respect these laws and all were present at the meetings during the phase where the rules and regulations were drawn up. The tours are therefore great, because they limit the number of people entering these areas and offer the best chances for people to observe the dolphins in the wild.
Leaving the Dolphin Bay or Baia dos Golfinhos, the tour then heads on to Madeiro Beach which is also part of the wildlife reserve. Besides observing the dolphins close up, the tour makes a stop and allows people the opportunity to swim in the water, and occasionally the dolphins will come over to investigate. The tranquility of the water, and warm temperatures allows tourists to swim, dive, and quietly floating on buoys that are available on the boats. The boats are designed to allow you to exit and return easily through a staircase that leads down into the war. The tour then returns to Pipa, after an hour and a half of fun.
The lagoon tour, unlike the beach tours, has a longer duration and continues all the way until the Guaraíras Lagoon in Tibau do Sul. The view from the boats is amazing, with the waters, the beach and the cliffs all seen from various angles through the trip and from a perspective beach goers never get to see. Visitors get to enjoy the white of the cliffs of Tibau do Sul, and see the entrance to the Lagoon in Tibau feeling the gentle rocking of the sea on the boat as it enters the lagoon.
The tour offers drinks and snacks aboard the boat and anchors at one of the many areas along the lagoon, allowing visitors to take many scenic paradise shots and for others to go swimming in the naturally sheltered dark waters of the lagoon. As the tour continues, it takes a tour around the many shrimp farms in the area, passing by the small fishing village of Georgino Avelino, which primarily sustains itself on the proceeds from the shrimp farming industry.
The tour starts to wrap up at sunset, when the boat is parked in the middle of the lagoon for visitors to take in the beautiful spectacle of the setting sun. The views are amazing and known throughout the area as the best place to watch the sun set. The dark waters, mixing with the blue ocean waters creates a golden shimmering along the entire bay view.
