Baía Formosa Beach in Natal
Located in the city of Baia Formosa, Baía Formosa Beach is almost 100km from Natal and actually near the border with the State of Paraíba. The beach has numerous fishing boats sitting offshore, with a long wide sandy beach. The bank of the beach in some areas is nearly a sheer cliff. The brilliant blue waters here make it a beautiful beach to visit.

The sunset from the lighthouse at the beach is known as one of the most beautiful in the region.
Baia Formosa Beach is the largest reserve of Atlantic forest, Mata da Estrela covering over 2000 hectares of space. Tours and visitors are restricted because it listed as a Private Natural Heritage Reserve. Mata da Estrela, has a pond called Araraquara, which is popular with locals.
