Natal Carnival
The Carnival is undoubtedly the most popular festival in Brazil and one of the most popular worldwide, attracting tourists from all over the planet. In Brazil, the celebration usually begins on the Friday night before the beginning of Lent and usually ends the night of Tuesday prior to Ash Wednesday (which is the first day of Lent in the Western Christian calendar). Forte dos Reis Magos (historical) -
So called because of the beginning of its construction, the 6th of January, when Brazilians commemorate the Three Kings Day. Built with lime and whale oil by the Portugueses in 1598, this beautiful monument was responsible for protecting the city of Natal at that time.
