Arquipelago de Anavilhanas
The 100 km from Manaus, near the city of New Airão, Rio Negro, between the rivers and Apuaú Cuieiras, is the archipelago of fluvial Anavilhanas, one of the world's largest, with more than 400 islands that make real maze. The occupied area is 3,500 km2, extending for 90 km along the Rio Negro. The islands are covered with native vegetation, predominantly the palms as Jauari, buritis and bacaba. Fauna are present, jacaretinga, alligator, python and iguana, Cacace-smell-bellied monkey.
