Parque Nacional do Pico da Neblina

The National Park of Pico da Neblina houses the highest peak in Brazil, Pico da Neblina, with an altitude of 2993.78 meters (measuring magazine Satellite / GPS by IBGE in 2004). In the Park is situated also the second highest peak in Brazil, Pico March 31, with 2972 meters. The Park is located near the border with Venezuela, the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in the northern state of Amazonas, Brazil. It has an area of 2,260,344.00 (ha) (22,603 km2). The perimeter of the park is 1,040,602.768 meters (1,040 km) long. It is administered by ICMBio.

The natural beauty of the Sierra Imeri is the great attraction of the park. The trek is only done with the authorization of ICMBio, and accredited by the national guidelines.

The park is in the State of Amazonas, municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Access can be done either by waterways, through the creek and river Itamirim Cauaburi and Sa-or air through small planes leaving from Manaus.
