The highlands of the Massif Baturité, far just over 100 km from Fortaleza. In addition to the mild temperatures, which average between 20 C and 22 º C and the minimum reaches 17 º C, the natural beauty of the region are an invitation to ecotourism. The Massif has a small strip of Atlantic Forest turned into an Environmental Protection Area.
Each city that makes up the highlands of the Massif Baturité has its charm and attraction for tourists. Guaramiranga, the best known, stands out for entertainment and leisure options. The city, with average annual temperature of 18 º C, has several bars and restaurants and is ideal for tasting hot drinks, while bringing the catch up with friends. Not to mention the various events that put the city on the cultural and gastronomic calendar of the state, such as jazz and blues festival (carnival), theater (September) and wine (in November).
It is also worth a stroll for Guaramiranga to enjoy the beauty of its flora, consisting of several species of Atlantic Forest and Amazon. Baturité, the city that gives its name to Massive, charms for its many tourist attractions. A right spot to visit is the old railroad where they were transported by horticultural products and coffee to Fortaleza. On site, one of the highlights is the little engine like "Smokey Mary", which calls for a return to the past.
Also in Baturité, it is worth visiting the Church, built in 1764 in colonial style, as well as the Via Sacra, consisting of a staircase leading to a statue of Our Lady on the mountain top and Apostolic Jesuit School (dated XVIII century) , also known as the Monastery of the Jesuits, with its beautiful architecture. Another landmark is the house of Commander Ananias Arruda, which is now a museum.
