Ironman Brasil Triathlon Florianopolis
Florianópolis is the Ironman city. Every year, always on the last Sunday in May, almost 2,000 athletes come to the city carrying their bikes, family, friends, and lots of adrenaline. It’s the perfect city for Ironman Brazil, with the ideal temperature and cheers to motivate any athlete in the most difficult kilometers. The race takes place at Jurere International Beach and has all the infrastructure to well receive iron men and women.
In the last years, on the race day, it has had moderate North winds, water temperatures that allow the use of wetsuits and air temperatures around 76 F with humidity around 55%. All of this helps the most experienced athletes and gives extra strength to the new ones.
At Ironman Brazil, the best 50 amateur athletes on their categories win their passport to the world final, the Ford Ironman World Championship, in Kona (Hawaii) on October 8, 2011.
Starting point location: Jurerê beach.
