GREAT STREAM OF ECOLOGICAL PARK

Located in a neighborhood without a beach, with a total area of 21.3 hectares, the Big Creek Ecological Park has a diversified infrastructure to offer visitors an alternative in the leisure area in Florianopolis.
The great attraction of the place are the trails. Bordered by native forest, they have signs, and identification of about 100 species of trees. As the plates have an important role in environmental education project of the park, they were made of metal and given a protective coating so they last longer. In addition, the Park has a track adapted for people with special needs.
Anyone who wants more information about the flora and fauna can count on for guidance and kiosks with expert guides, available throughout the hours of operation.
Sport, Culture and Leisure
Once you know the tracks, a good alternative is a pillow on the edge of one of the two lakes. If children do not like to sit still, have the option of the playground and playroom, reminding them that to attend, you need a guardian.
Sporting activities are also encouraged within the Park. For this, a kiosk of the Municipal Sports and a sports field. The court is open to the entire community and to use it just to book in advance.
Kiosks in the park happen even yoga classes and Tai Chi Chuan. The master Santana Minister Monica Yoga classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16.30. The classes are free to join and simply just take a mat to do the exercises. On Sundays there are classes in Tai Chi Chuan at 10am.
Environmental Education
The Municipal Environment Foundation - Flores maintains a nursery and a greenhouse for research and culture of native seedlings. During the day, visitors are met by guides who explain the work of Florida. On-site workshops are also offered handmade paper. The project aims to encourage people to adopt the method of the 3Rs (reduce, recycle and reuse) on the day to day, from small changes in habits. The workshop is open to both schools, elderly groups and nongovernmental organizations, and for the wider community. The groups already formed can arrange a visit by calling 3338-0021. Already people in the community interested in participating in the project should be a register, and await the formation of groups with ten students.
