Ciencias Naturais Museum
Created in 1983, the Museum of Natural Sciences PUC Minas develops scientific, educational and cultural. The Museum is an interdisciplinary space of the university that complements its range of services to the community.
The Museum's mission is to promote the interest of visitors in the natural sciences through exhibitions, education and research. Museum's goal of preserving the natural heritage, history and culture of Brazil.
In the Museum's collection is one of the major collections of fossil mammals of South America, in addition to collections of current Brazilian fauna of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, with special emphasis on the species of the cerrado.
Museum staff conducts research in the areas of paleontology, zoology and conservation. Hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 17h;
Thursday from 13h to 21h;
and Saturdays and holidays from 9h to 17h
Admission: R$ 4.00 (cost varied for other activities)
Comments:
- Free admission - children under 5 years, over 60 years, staff and students of PUC Minas (upon presentation of ID card) and members of ICOM (International Council of Museums).
- The ticket sale ends 15 minutes before the museum closing time.
- Scheduled visits and other special activities should be scheduled in the education sector of the museum.

Take the Metro to the Gameleira station, go NW to the PUC campus, and turn right. Diverse mollusks, whales, and Brazilian forest animals. A new exhibit is under construction.
