Fort Museum of the Nativity
The fort is at the origin of the Nativity in Belém and the foundation of the colonization of the Amazon, in the seventeenth century. The Forte do Presépio Museum scene makes present this history by resuming the link of Pará with their origin and identity. Through the exhibition circuit it is possible to monitor cultural, social and military proceedings in which the fort and its surroundings are immersed.
The whole area of the museum shows information about the history of colonization of the Amazon. In the space called "Historic Site of City Foundation" the exhibition brings together the architectural remnants of the time the foundation of the Fortress, such as the guns of different periods whereas at the Encontro Museum, in "Guaimiaba" room there are tapajônica and marajoara ceramics and objects as well as culture material collected on the historic site itself: fragments of pottery and porcelain, bullets, coins, etc.
