Designed to take the visitor on a journey through the gemological history of Pará , the Gems Museum has a collection of more than 4000 pieces.
Since the archaeological ceramics and Marajoara Tapajônica, the five elements rooms keep surprising and curious - ancient amulets, gems found in the territory of Pará, organic material and works of art of nature, like a fossilized stem. In the fifth room, all elements of historical, mythical and minerals gathered in collections of jewelry, with the characteristics of Amazonian culture and beauty of gems and precious metals.
The Museum of Gems is linked to the Integrated Museums and Memorials, managed by the Government of Pará, through the Department of Culture (Secult). In the central area of the first building, the Garden of Freedom - Gemological only garden in the country - arouses surprise and delight. Designed by renowned landscape Kliass Rosa, the Garden of Freedom is shaped like a mandala, bringing together some of the main elements of nature: it purifies the water, plants that renew the air, crystals, amethysts and citrus fruits to energize the environment. In the central fountain, three large quartz - one with almost 2 feet tall - give a glimpse of the immense mineral wealth that lies underground in the Amazon. Around the garden are six stores in the jewelry market, which offer five pieces created and prepared under the inspiration of the cultural diversity of the Amazon. To serve all segments, the space has an old jewelry store. Passing through the islands of Lapidary and Jewellery, the visitor enters the Craftsman House, where seven types of crafts exemplify the diversity of raw materials and talents of many artists throughout the immense territory of Pará.
In addition to the sale of crafts, Craftsman House also reserves the Coliseum for the Arts, which receives arena theater, dance, music, folklore groups and all kinds of popular and classical art, only a space for exhibitions, the mezzanine ( designed to capacity building activities and other events) and the gourmet, where culinary delights are served Para - considered the most authentic of the country.
