Festival de Cinema

The festival each year gets more media attention and attract even more lovers of cinema. There is competition between the audiovisual productions from all over Brazil. There is still a free screening of various cinematic styles. It happens every year in June.

Dedicated primarily to the movies in their national competitive exhibitions, the Festival aims to spread the Brazilian audiovisual in Para state, taking the film where the people are.

The Festival which is now radiating center of culture media in the north of the country, both among performers and between the public itself, the festival of cinema in the Amazon calls attention to the great popular participation.

Throughout a week, people are spectators and jury - all the prizes of the festival are awarded by popular vote.

"There are two issues we do only with the festival jury. At first, it was the need to make better use, but after the return of the city population was so good, we realized that the best way to do," says actress Dira Paes, Pará that with Emanoel Freitas divides the direction of the festival.

The Cine Olympia is now marked as the seat of the city's film festival, after having lived in danger of being sold to an evangelical church. "This is a place preserved for our people, after a long fight. It's like a true temple of cinema to the city and the country, a symbol of resistance," defined Dira.
