Mosqueiro Island
is a river island located on the east coast Mosqueiro of the Pará River, the south arm of the Amazon River, opposite the Bay of Guajará. It has an area of approximately 212 km ².
Mosqueiro possesses the municipality of Bethlehem and of this 40.5 km of continental Bethlehem. It has 17 km of beaches to freshwater tidal movement.
Mosqueiro The name originates from the ancient practice of the indigenous fish moqueio tupinambás who inhabited the island.
The Hole of the Sea Islands are located in the District Administrative Mosqueiro-PA as part of the metropolitan region of Belém Belém Between the Bridge and the Bay-Mosqueiro the sun, are formed by 10 islands that make up a total of 379.15 ha. We identified three islands in the hole of the Navy for field studies: Canuari, Conception and Kite have the same ecosystem or floodplain forest and Tide are still with considerable vegetation cover and are not subject to a degradation process environmental accentuated by the distance they are from the urban center of Mosqueiro.
