Samba is probably the most well known Brazilian rythm, but it isn't the only one. There are several different kinds of music all over the country, varying a lot from state to state. Along with modern musical genres of music, there are many distinict styles of music to explore in Brazil. Up in the northeast there are axe music and forro. The shouthern states have something similar to country music, called Gaucho music (musica tradicionalista gaucha). Throughout Brazil, pagode, musica sertaneja, Brazilian pop rock and Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) are very popular.
