Brazil's colonization history started, officially, on April 22, 1500, when Pedro Alvares Cabral arrived with his caravels at what is now the city of Porto Seguro, in the state of Bahia. 510 years have passed since then, and it is needless to say that a lot happenned during these 5 centuries.
