The Cinco Pontas (five points) Fort was built by the Dutch in 1630, despite the name, the Fort has only four points, a result of reforms made by the Portuguese after the expulsion of the Dutch. Located in the neighborhood of St. Joseph, the fort houses since 1982, the Museum of the City of Recife.
The museum is notable for its collection which contains iconographic documents of extreme importance for the preservation of urban and social history of Recife.
The cultural memory of the Pernambuco state capital is represented by approximately 150 000 pictures and pieces from old homes and the Church of the Good Jesus of the Martyrs, since demolished, in addition to the iconographic collection, the museum houses a collection of 1,600 cartographic maps from the XVII to the XX century, and also a specific library on the city of Recife.

Admission: R$ 1.00 (children under 10 and people over 60 have free admission).
Schedule for: Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
