Description: Octavio Vecchi Museum

The Museum, also called the Museum of Wood, which opened in 1931, is internationally recognized for having the largest collection of wood in Latin America. It is located in the Albert Loefgren State Park.

Their samples have slots that reproduce the leaves and fruit of the species from which they were extracted. Lacquer based varnished pieces from China and Japan and artistically carved furniture complete the collection of the museum, whose floor and ceiling are also in the wood sample.

Beside, there is the landmark of the Tropic of Capricorn. Also nearby is a statue of St. John Gualberto, protector of the forests of São Paulo, enthroned in Octavio Vecchi Museum in 1957 by Benedictine monks of Valombrosa, Italy.
