The construction of the building ended in 1873. The former seat of state government. Today it houses several cultural and artistic exhibitions, and also the State Art Gallery.

Built between 1865 and 1873 in the Plaza on September 7 in the neighborhood of Cidade Alta, the imposing neoclassical building is not only relevant for the architectural aspect or his past. Protected by the Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) and transformed into the main spaces dedicated to the arts in Rio Grande do Norte, the palace now houses the Pinacoteca do Estado, which gets traveling exhibitions and maintains a permanent exhibition with some of the most representative works painting and drawing produced by artists potiguares.
Seat of government between 1902 and 1996, houses the Pinacoteca do Estado. In the collection, paintings by Modernists born in Natal as Dorian Gray and Newton Caldas Navarro (who swabbed landscapes Redinha Beach and Rio Potengi). The furniture in the palace of the 19th century is also exposed.
Tuesday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
