Outeiro Island

The Caratateua or Outeiro island, as it is known is located 28 km from Belém connected to the mainland by bridge Governor Enéas Martins, 360 m long. The area has fully urbanized beaches, where stalls serves snacks such as fish, shrimps and crabs. From the beaches, the most popular are Amor (Love) Beach 10880 and Brasília Beach 10898.

It houses the Environmental Education Center prof. Eidorffe Moreira, "Forest School", a reference in environmental education.

Standing out as major tourist attractions are beautiful freshwater beaches, bars and restaurants where you enjoy the city typical food.

Island Caratateua (Outeiro)

Outeiro beach, bathed by the Guajará Bay, is across the District Icoaraci on the island of Caratateua. The spa is more near Belém is situated 18 km from the capital. Its beaches, water sweet, are quite in demand on weekends and holidays prolonged. Along the coast there is a large variety of bars and restaurants that offer the traditional fried fish. There is already possible to have contact with immensity of Guajará Bay, the tidal movement of water and plenty of fresh fish the region. One late afternoon in Love Beach is a tourist attraction.

Directions
Access is by Augusto Montenegro Road to Km 12. Then follows the
Maracacuera Road to Km 02. Road transport is the responsibility of
bus company Icoaraciense
