This vista point allows a person to have unfettered views of the ocean, and four beaches: Areia Preta, Artistas, Meio and Forte.   Ladeira do Sol is literally translates to "Hill of the Sun" and is really a sight for sore eyes.   Natal is aptly named City of the Sun, because it has roughly 300 sunny days a year and it is a land that arouses passion and warmth from it's people by the idyllic landscapes.   The beaches, dunes, reefs and cliffs are visible from this vantage point of Ladeira do Sol, and according to NASA, you'll be breathing the cleanest air in the Americas while taking in this great view.  

Look for the second largest urban forest park of Brazil - the Dunas Park (Parque das Dunas) from the top of Ladeira do Sol.  In the vicinity is Câmara Cascudo Avenue, a tribute to the important writer and folklorist of the country, Câmara Cascudo.
