O Parque Estadual do Jaraguá, with approximately five hectares in area, is one of the last remnants of Atlantic Forest vegetation in urban areas of the city.
Known for being the highest point of the metropolitan area, the Jaragua State Park has trails leading to the peak of 1,135 meters and the gazebo, where the view of the São Paulo city and surrounding areas is worth the ride. Along the way you can see, besides lakes and springs, wild animals in their natural habitat.
It is an urban park, which is among one of the most representative of this kind in Brazil. Created in 1961 and listed as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1994, has historical significance, having been founded in focus for many social representations of São Paulo.
Today is often best remembered for possessing several television aerials at its peak, it means no loss of its beauty, it is still one of the postcards of the city of São Paulo and reference point.
The area has activities for adults and children such as barbecues, courts, playgrounds, hostel, cafeteria, pavilion and amphitheater available to the visitor. It is possible to reach the Jaragua Peak through the tourist road by car.
