Câmara Cascudo is a celebrated figure of the nation Potiguar. Greatest historian and folklorist of our state, his memorial has a collection of about 10,000 books, furniture, letters and documents that depict and recall its history.
The location designated by the State Government to house the Memorial Chamber Cascudo is a XVIII century building erected to host the Royal Treasury. It was rebuilt in 1875 to serve the Treasury for Finance. It also served to use the Headquarters of the Army.
The Memorial is usually the headquarters of the Popular Culture Meeting, held during celebrations to mark the Week of Folklore, mounted the stage in front of the building for performances of folk groups.
The Memorial Library is open to researchers, but does not loan books because some are very rare, from the collection of the writer.
